On June 24, Neighbourhood Pharmacies provided a submission to the BC Select Standing Committee on Finance and Government Services on their 2023 Budget Consultation, with recommendations for expanding pharmacy's role in the delivery of primary care to increase healthcare capacity. Specifically, we recommended that the province enable pharmacies to play a larger role in routine immunizations by ensuring routine vaccines are included in existing pharmaceutical distribution systems and allowing pharmacists to assess and prescribe for minor ailments. An expanded copy of our final submission can be downloaded below. This submission builds on remarks presented by VP Sheli Dattani to the Standing Committee on June 20; Sheli's remarks begin at 1:33:18 in the recorded broadcast.
