Now that the Senate has adopted Bill C-64 and referred the legislation to the Senate Committee on Social Affairs, Science and Technology (SOCI) for study, we have provided an official submission of recommendations the SOCI. Building on our position and earlier submissions, we have also provided an estimate of the financial costs of both a single payer and a fill the gap pharmacare model, raised some additional considerations the SOCI should discuss in their analysis of the legislation and called for the pharmacy sector to be represented on the Committee of Experts.
