Today, Neighbourhood Pharmacies provided feedback to the PMPRB on their latest round of Guidelines on excessive medication pricing. We are pleased with the PMPRB's decision to select the use of HIP as the key criteria to determine whether or not to trigger a further in-depth review, as we have called for. However, we have urged the PMPRB to pause any further implementation of its latest guidelines in light of the ongoing tariff dispute between Canada and the U.S., which threatens to destabilize the entire pharmaceutical supply chain. With increased uncertainty around drug pricing, availability, and market access, introducing additional regulatory changes at this time could further disrupt supply and jeopardize patient access to essential medications.
