On February 20, 2025, we issued a letter to a number of Federal Ministers, including the Minister of Health, and the Minister of International Affairs, outlining the impacts that the growing Tariff War with the USA could have on Canada's pharmacies and the patients we serve. In particular we highlighted:
- the risks of imposing tariffs on pharmaceuticals and related products
- the potential for public panic and supply chain disruption
- the possible negative influence on provincial pharmacy funding programs
- the overall increased operational costs that will be placed on pharmacies
We've further called for Government to take a "stronger together" approach, fostering growth by addressing interprovincial barriers to workforce mobilization, technology adoption, and innovation.
