We are pleased to share our submission to the BC Government, in response to their public consultation on proposed scope of practice changes for pharmacists.
We applaud the BC government for advancing many of these important expansions and have provided feedback to support their implementation, along with considerations for additional scope enhancements to further strengthen pharmacy’s role in patient care. Our submission also outlines key operational enablers needed to ensure these expanded services can be effectively delivered by pharmacies, including recommendations to modernize minor ailments assessment and prescribing, integrate testing services, support public health priorities, improve vaccine access through community pharmacy, and advance targeted scope expansions to better support patients and the broader health system.
