On December 16, 2022, the PMPRB updated its information and consultation page regarding the status of the current draft guidelines to note that "New Guidelines will not be implemented on January 1, 2023. The Interim Guidance issued by the Board on August 18, 2022, will remain in place until further notice."
Neighbourhood Pharmacies and other stakeholders have called for the PMPRB to pause and re-evaluate the development and implementation of the Guidelines in the latest round of consultations, citing the negative impacts the current draft will have on patients' access to medications and care, as well as an unrealistic timeframe. The consultation closed on December 5; all submissions received are now available for review on the PMPRB website.
